Artificial intelligence (AI)
AI, artificial intelligence
Artificial intelligence (AI) is the field of computer science concerned with systems that perform tasks usually requiring human thought: recognizing patterns, making decisions, and generating content from data.
- AI is a broad field, and machine learning is part of it.
- Modern systems learn from data rather than operating purely on rigid rules.
- Effectiveness depends on data quality and a clearly defined task.
Artificial intelligence is an umbrella term covering many techniques, from simple rules to complex models. In business practice, it most often refers to systems that learn relationships from data and use them to predict, classify, or generate a result.
Most of today's applications rely on machine learning, and the most visible results come from working with text and images through models such as LLMs. It's worth remembering that AI is not a single technology but a set of methods chosen to fit a specific problem.
